I went to Nagoya with the members of my English conversation class today. The group's name is "Green Apples". Out of the 7 person group, 4 were able to join us to go to Nagoya and choose a textbook. I figured out something. I don't want to spend a lot of time around people who want to be around me just to learn english. I had a hard time holding onto my temper toward the end of the day. They helped me with stopping by NTT to find out why I couldn't make calls, but I could receive them. (It turns out I had the phone setting wrong or something.) Then we went to the bookstore and chose the textbook. I hope I chose a good one. At least we got one with a teacher's manual. I also took some time to find a preparation book for the Japanese Proficiency test. A trade paperback that cost over $20!, but it's what I need, so I bought it. I can't believe how expensive things are here. BTW, all of these people who have children who are at least in their 20s. That's why they could take a weekday to do this.

After that, we went to a hotel restaurant for a buffet lunch. Lots of different food-- Curry, fresh pasta, seaweed salad, tomato salad, etc. I particularly liked the Mochi with sweet red bean paste for dessert. I haven't had it since the last time I was in Japan, if memory serves. After, we headed to the Nagoya International center-- I was hoping they might be interested in posting for conversation partners, or looking at travel info, but they kinda stuck together and talked while I picked up some information about Nagoya. Oh well.

On the way home, I was tired, and found the CD with Betthoven's Ninth on it, and sang along kinda. I miss choir. Got home, and discovered that internet was connected! YEAY! much jumping around and happiness. I don't have to deal with Japanese keyboards anymore. except at school... oh well. So I spent much time online, and then headed out to get my shopping done. Lesson learned-- try to get to Seiyu early on Tuesday-- they ran out of apple juice and the yogurt I wanted and didn't have much bread left.
