Unless you're accompanied by a girl, males are not allowed in the Print Club area of the video arcade I checked out yesterday. From what I could make out of the sign, this is due to some kind of sexual activities they're trying to stop-- I figure either sexual harrassment, or more likely, pimping. (I can see how the closed photo booths would be a good place for that. ewww!)

And in the "Japanese are anal" category... I bought eggs yesterday, and as I was unpacking them, I noticed they each had a small sticker on them. They are expiration dates!! I can see how it's helpful though.

Pimping couldn't be stopped by it - by definition, a pimp has to have girls so they'd be entitled to enter. Less customers, perhaps.

It's actually significantly more likely to be due to the activities of females than males though. The Print Clubs (assuming they're basically get your picture on stickers things) are being heavily used by Japanese schoolgirls to print semi-nude and nude pictures of themselves to share around their friends. It may well be that males aren't being allowed in because it discourages the girls who're spending so much money there.

Eggs Actly

It's a good idea to date stamp the individual egg. I was looking at a carton in my own fridge and they date stamp the outside, but there is nothing to stop someone in the store from switching the eggs around. I do it myself, if I find the eggs in one carton are really undersized or possibly cracked. Older eggs have broken down and can hold ecoli. All kinds of nasty. So do you find yourself making primarily Western style meals still or are you catching onto Japanese cuisine?

I thought they wouldn't want a girl to go in the booth if they HAD a male with them. Wouldn't that give rise to even naughtier activity in the booth? Hmm.

Dating the eggs

I mentioned the stickers on the eggs to my husband. He loves it. He marks our older ones with a pen when we buy fresh ones, to ensure we use the oldest first.
