Pizza!

I finally got the courage to order pizza on Monday. YUM! about $10 for a CPK size teriyaki chicken pizza with mushrooms, cheese, teriyaki sauce,mayonnaise, chicken and onions. Since it's raining again, and pizza sounds good, I just ordered out again. This time I ordered Shrimp gratin pizza (corn, mushrooms, shrimp and sheese with white sauce--same $10 special), and a blueberry dessert pizza with blueberry sauce, fromage cream, and cheese. We'll see if I just got lucky the first time!

When I made my visit in '82, my hosts made me something for lunch which they called "Japanese pizza" - with lots of bonita flakes over various ingredients laid on a paper thin dough. It was very good, as was all the food I ate in Japan, but it wasn't the North American style pizza. I take it you got something closer? It still sounds absolutely delicious. And their food was so low fat it isn't funny. I poke my midriff and only guess as how sveldt you are with your delightful diet.

What you got is called Okonomi-yaki. It's also sometimes called Japanese Pizza or Japanese Pancakes. It resembles neither of those dishes though :) My pizza turned out pretty yummy, and so did the dessert pizza.
