So, I just realized I haven't posted about this. Last week, we had a voice coach come and work with us for an hour and a half. I really liked her style, she had us moving around a lot, and uses trilled 'R's to access the 'er' resonator, so it's close to something I'm familiar with. She also had all of us doing loose lips (think motorboat sounds)which I find as amusing now as I did in HS. Miwa sensei also has a cool sense of humor, and she's an alto. The best part is when I approached her about it, she said she was interested in learning English, so we're going to do an exchange! I'm meeting her next Sat, and we'll go book shopping and just figure out how we're going to do this. She also has connections in Tokyo, and actually suggested that I might consider preparing to audtition for the Tokyo Opera Chorus, which is a regular job.

Good going! I remember those motorboat sounds from the voice class next door in high school - always amusing. =) Have fun!

Yeah-- You didn't have to look around the room and see those faces while trying to do it yourself. I'm just focusing on the next step.

Those exercises always made my face itch. The audition sounds totally exciting!!! If you decide to do it (you should just for the experience if nothing else!), I wish you ... break a leg ... and that you have fun! You set my imagination to flying!
