Busy life

Things are good. Just when I thought my registration for the Japanese Proficiency test hadn't made it on time, I got the confirmation. *sigh* I had started to think it would be nice to not take it. So I am confirmed for the test on December 5th. This means I need to study.

This week has been busy. I went to see the movie with Y on Monday, right? I am so in love with it, I'm thinking of going to see it again, and I definitely want to get it when it comes out (ima, ai ni yukimasu). Tuesday, I agreed to help out RK, one of my volunteers at Komaki ES, with her English class. Wednesday was a national holiday (Culture Day), but Shinooka had Parent's day, and gave us Thrusday off. Unfortunately, they neglected to inform me of this until about two weeks ago, so I already had said that I would be at a rehearsal. I went to work in the morning, then headed off to GE rehearsal, completely forgetting that it was in a different place, as well as the fact that I was supposed to take shoes to try on my performance dress. It worked out, but was a tad stressful. After that, I went to my meeting, and then headed for VA rehearsal (every Wed). It wasn't at the normal place, or at another place we have had rehearsal, so I went home.

Thursday was relaxing. It was nice to have a day off. I did housework, called a friend, and then headed off to another GE rehearsal. Had a little run in with my part leader, and then went out with some friends there. Got home after midnight.

Today did not go as I would have liked. I got to school and found out that my schedule was changed, and that my classroom was full of 2nd graders art projects. Oh, and the chairs had been put away, and the order of this thing I use in class was all mixed up. My volunteer hadn't shown up (and never did), and I had 15 minutes before class started when I checked out the room (Thank whoever that I did that). 2 classes, then off to the gym to watch a play that was brought to the school (about WWII / Ueno Zoo), then lunch.

I eat lunch with the kids. Today was with a bunch of fourth graders. We have a soup dish every day. Today was miso soup with pork, and I had too much, so I went to put some back. As I was trying to do that, I managed to spill half of my soup all over the child trying to get more soup across from me. Then, as I got clear of that mess and headed back to my seat, the child sitting next to me elbowed the soup bowl out of my hands. It was a rather quiet lunch. Oh, and I forgot about the crayon incident.

Remember, there were 2nd grader art projects in my classroom? One of the fourth graders asked me a question as her class was leaving, and I grabbed a piece of chalk, and wrote quickly on the board to explain. Except that it wasn't chalk. One of the second graders (I assume) left a white crayon, that just happens to be the exact same size and shape as a piece of chalk, on the rim at the bottom of the blackboard. I did my best, and asked for help, but there's still a shadow 'bad' and 'bat' on the board. I might try again Monday if it's bothering me.

Finished work, and went over to hang out with A and her kids. She's the computer person at Honjo, and just fun. I like her sense of humor. She has 3 kids, and her husband works in another part of Japan and comes home (sometimes) on the weekends. I love her kids. They're very energetic, and cute. So, after an evening of babysitting while A got housework done, I'm home. Time to sleep. busy day tomorrow.
